My first time to be asked if I was pregnant by someone I didn't know was at the doctor's office I am working at right now. I had a belt on higher up on my stomach and I think she was able to tell that way :) The second time was also in the same doctor's office a week later but this time there was no belt involved and I really didn't know if you would be able to tell. But a patient asked me if I was pregnant and I said yes :) Then she asked how far along I was and at this point I was a day away from 22 weeks, so I said, "Well, I guess I'm almost 6 months!" It was crazy to think that we are that far along!
As far as feeling him move... for a while now, since about 16-17 weeks, I have felt what I thought was him moving... but it was really more painful than it was ever cute. :/ I am almost positive that it's attributable to him moving though, because it always happened in the mornings when I would turn up the radio in the Acadia for him to hear, or when I was getting really hungry, etc. And it always happened in the same two locations for just a split second like movement would.
However, the first WONDERFUL time to feel him move was experienced with Brian! I was laying on the couch at 21 weeks and Brian was trying to use his stethescope to hear the baby's heartbeat (unsuccessful unfortunately, but it's still really early to be able to do that). He was pressing down really hard into my belly, and we were both waiting in anticipation for him to hear something, when all of a sudden he kicked THROUGH my stomach so that we could see it lift up!! The stethescope was pushed off my stomach and Brian gave me the most terrified look!! He said, "Did you do that?!?!" And I laughed and said, "How in the WORLD would I do that?!" We laughed so, so hard and it was so much fun to be able to experience that together! Oddly enough I hadn't even felt it so I wouldn't have even noticed if it weren't for SEEING it that day! That must have triggered baby to take no prisoners with his movement though! Because now he loves to just poke around and do flips and all kinds of things. :) The first time he flipped was in the middle of a Grand Rounds meeting being held by a local cardiologist in town. Maybe he wants to be a Cardiologist when he grows up? :)
We are really contemplating baby boy names right now. We have no stipulations of what it should start with or how many letters it will be or anything like that. Baby Boy- we do want it to be different, and we want people to KNOW who you are! We also want you to be able to carry it as a name whether you're working on Wall Street or as a professional football player or as a cardiologist. :) We keep thinking we need a feisty name, because you have really seemed to be a feisty fighter since the beginning of your existence! But Daddy has been reminding me lately that this snuggle bug of a boy that you are currently might mean that you are someone different than we have been anticipating! So we are just going to make sure we have a few options and will name you once we get to meet you on your birthday! We love you very much and I am really starting to get excited to know you!
